Welcome to the Democratic Women of Kern, serving Kern County Democrats since 1995.
Fellow Democrats Fellow Democratic Women of Kern Member,The Democratic Women of Kern was formed in 1995, out of frustration at the lack of Democratic political activity in Kern County. Thanks to you, the Democratic Women of Kern is a diverse and friendly group, with a strong commitment to the Democratic Principals. Thank you for your willingness to be involved. We are excited that you have joined us in helping to achieve our goals by supporting Democratic Candidates and issues. It is especially important, given the current political climate, to have Democrats visible in Kern County. This year is a Federal Election Cycle. Your continued support and participation is vitally important. Our goal for this year is to work to get President Obama re-elected, as well as electing as many Democrats to local office as possible. Suggestions on improving our group are always welcome. The best way to make a difference is to volunteer for one of our committees. The Democratic Women of Kern are committed to working for local candidates and issues, in addition to state and national campaigns. It is important that as a group, we continue to put our time, energy and money into serving our community. Respectfully, Courtney Gulick President, Democratic Women of Kern Leticia Perez kicks off her campaign for 5th District Supervisor Fellow Democratic Women of Kern member Leticia Perez, kicked off her campaign last Friday (Jan. 6th) at Jefferson Park. She is running against Karen Goh for 5th District Supervisor. We had eighteen of our members at the rally, showing support for Leticia. Remember, our DWK mission is to support Democratic Candidates, so don't forget to sign up to volunteer for Leticia. January 14th Meeting The January meeting is a 2012 reorganizational meeting. President Courtney Gulick will be asking members to pledge volunteer hours to work on committees and various DWK projects, as well as political campaigns. Please be generous in scheduling time to help in the Democratic Women of Kern. There were fewer activities in 2011 as a result of members being unwilling to donate their time to work on them. We always appreciate your assistance and input. Courtney will be asking you to fill out a form asking what you like about DWK, and what you would like to see changed. Remember, we do not have paid staff to assist us, and depend totally on your willingness to volunteer. We especially thank our executive board members whose devotion to our group keeps it active. This meeting is one of the most important ones of the year. It determines the program and direction for 2012. Please plan to attend. | |
